18.02.2010: Dr.Web for Kerio MailServer updated

Doctor Web announced the release of the updated Linux version of Dr.Web for Kerio MailServer with improved performance and fixed errors.
The update follows the release of the Kerio mail server on February 9 2010. Along with a variety of new features it also got a new name — Connect 7. Now the Dr.Web plugin for Kerio mail servers is compatible with the new Kerio server. The plugin incorporates updated components of the anti-virus 5.0.1 series used in Dr.Web solutions for Unix.
Please, note that the name of the plugin in the Dr.Web product line remains the same — Dr.Web for Kerio MailServer.
In order to install the updated Dr.Web for Kerio MailServer you need to remove the previous version of the plugin.

Doctor Web announced the release of a new solutions for protection of mobile devices running the Symbian OS. Dr.Web for Symbian OS protects Nokia phones from viruses and spam.

08.02.2010: Dr.Web for Mac OS X updated

Doctor Web updated its anti-virus solution for Mac OS X. The update fixes several errors and provides several improvements.
Real-time operation of Dr.Web for Mac OS X has been optimized. Consumption of resources by the anti-virus monitor has been reduced.
In order to update Dr.Web for Mac OS X the new version must be installed over the previous version of the product.

03.02.2010: Dr.Web for Windows file servers now supports 64-bit systems

Doctor Web releases the updated version of its anti-virus for Windows file servers that supports 64-bit versions of Windows Server OS. The solution features the new file monitor SpIDer and allows placing suspicious objects to the quarantine.
Dr.Web for Windows file servers supports 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

29.01.2010: Updated beta-version of Dr.Web CureIt! against Trojan.Winlock

Doctor Web announced major updating of its Dr.Web CureIt! utility. Specific features for efficient neutralization of Trojan.Winlock programs have been implemented in the new version of the utility.
A new starter included in the utility activates protection of all files and processes of Dr.Web CureIt! before scanning is started.
The starter allows launching the utility on an alternative desktop in order to avoid blocking of its operation by a Trojan.
The updated beta-version of Dr.Web CureIt! is compatible with MS Windows 2000 and later (both 32 and 64 bit versions).

25.01.2010: Unlocking system compromised by Trojan.Winlock now available to mobile users

Doctor Web announced the launch of the mobile version of its Windows unlocking service. Now users who can't access the vendor's site from their machines because their systems are compromised by Trojan.Winlocks can access the free unlocking tool from their mobile device.

22.01.2010: New Doctor Web project offers arsenal against Trojan.Winlock

Doctor Web launches a new project aiming to gather in one place information about the dangerous family of Trojans blocking access to Windows (Trojan.Winlock) In the dedicated section of Doctor Web’s site users can find out an unlock code and exchange most up-to-date information about this piece of malware.
The trojan blocks access to your Windows computer; it says you have to send an SMS to a certain number if you want to unlock your computer. The average costs for this SMS are between 7 and 14 EUR.
In Russia, in January alone the number of victims of such programs reached several millions. The estimated income of the criminals in the very first month of 2010 amounted to several million Euros.

14.01.2010: iAWACS2009: Dr.Web received best test results for self-protection!

In a test of the self-protection of 7 popular anti-virus programs, Dr.Web was the only program that could not be cracked within one hour. The test was executed during the "First International Alternative Workshop on Aggressive Computing and Security" (iAWACS), which was organized by the french college of higher education for information technology,  electronics and automatic systems (ESIEA). The test was executed on PCs running under Windows using administrator permissions and took one hour. All Programs of other anti-virus vendors, including McAfee, Norton, Kaspersky and AVG, could be cracked within this time. The self-protection of some anti-virus programs was cracked even within a few minutes. For further information please visit the ESIEA site.

23.12.2009: Doctor Web releases single-user Dr.Web solutions supporting 64-bit versions of Windows

The Russian anti-virus vendor Doctor Web announced the release of its single-user solutions for Windows supporting the x64 architecture. The software products come to users with the refined SpIDer Guard resident monitor, a number of additional features and the new look and feel.
